Have you heard this song? I hate it. I cannot stand it. So, naturally, what happens?
I come home from an enjoyable evening and as I'm checking my email in the living room, my roommate plays the song on her computer not once, but five times in a row. Yes, that's right, five times. That adds up to about seventeen minutes of that same song. Then she moved on to this. And then this. I could practically feel my brain melting. Also, I saw Justin Bieber on Letterman tonight. Oh, wow, was it terrible. I think Spencer said it best: "The 12-year-old girls in the 60s had way better taste than the 12-year-old girls today".
I couldn't agree more. What on Earth has happened to music in the past fifty years? Whatever it is, it's not good.
Seriously, compare the links above with this post from a week ago.
Didn't that just make your ears feel better listening to those wonderful harmonies again?

wow. Are those first three songs considered music? Really? Because there is nothing musical about them.
Yuck! And the kid, well, I'd like to hear how he sounds with just a microphone! haha
No, you don't want to hear what he sounds like with just a microphone. That's what he had on Letterman, and it was awful.
I couldn't agree more. It no longer takes talent to be considered a "great" singer. If you have the right equipment anyone can do it. Most of what people consider music is really IQ reducing noise pollution.
Sorry, it posted twice. :)
okay...I love "IQ reducing noise pollution" That is funny! haha
I only recently heard of this Ke$ha person but I've never listened to her music.
Seriously, I listen to country and whatever Pandora comes up with on my Glee station. I can't take pop music, it makes me feel pessimistic about society, lol.
Listening to this kind of music all of the time would be like eating a variety of Skittles as your primary food source.
Candice - I agree with you. I can't stand listening to pop music and most other things considered popular right now (besides country, of course) :)
Dad - I agree. It's so bland.
Oy. The pop stuff these days just doesn't speak to me.
