I just heard the most troubling thing from my roommate E.
E: "My mom read Twilight and actually enjoyed it."
A: "Eww. Really?"
E: "Mom, I'm disowning you."
That's not the disheartening part though. Here's where it gets really horrible. Her mom said that the book is very accurate when it comes to how you feel when you're in love. All of the incapacitating, want him with you every minute, can't breathe without him feelings...
E: "She said that's how it is. The stuff Bella feels....that actually happens."
A: "Really? I'm never going to get married!"
I am undeniably in love with love, yet I am completely mystified when it comes to how people fall in love.
I think that all of the great love stories of the generations have ruined me forever.

WTHeck! I thought you liked Twilight. I thought you forced your own mother to purchase the books and read them. Now you getting all "Ewww" about it. What up with dat? You getting all book snobby English major on me? :) I'll grant you they are not great works of literature, but they are fun reads. (Well except for that last one--that was just work.)

NB: It is important to note that the incapacitating love Bella feels is NOT how it works for everyone. Just like every person is different, the way they experience love is also different. There are similarities, but... it ain't the same for everyone.
