That may be the measure of our lives." - Toni Morrison

"Growing up Southern is a privilege, really. It's more than where you're born; it's an idea and state of mind that seems imparted at birth. It's more than loving fried chicken, sweet tea, football, and country music. It’s being hospitable, devoted to front porches, magnolias, moon pies, coca-cola... and each other. We don't become Southern - we're born that way." - Unknown

Who else feels my end-of-the-semester pain?

Why, oh, why do I have absolutely no motivation to do school work? Perhaps it's because I'm halfway through my senior year of college, and am ready to graduate. Perhaps it's because I'm getting married in two weeks. (yes, yes, that's probably it). Perhaps it's because Christmas is right around the corner. Regardless, anything and everything is infinitely more entertaining than the papers I should be writing right now. Currently, Blogger is much more engrossing than my papers. In the next ten minutes it could be my bookshelf, or the ever-so-tantalizing box of Rachael Ray pots and pans my mom bought for me that I'm dying to open and play with. The topics for my papers are incredibly interesting, and I know a lot about them, but I just have no motivation to sit down and work on them. Alas, I shall. Back to work on "So it goes: Why We as a Society are Unable to Move on from Tragedy" and "Mama Day, Their Eyes Were Watching God, and Beloved: Purging the World of its Toxicity and Regaining Your Voice".
Good titles, no?

Bring on Christmas!

Cycles of life. I always felt that no motivation dip about this point in the semester. I just wanted to be done, but there were a couple weeks left to still power through. Good luck!
