That may be the measure of our lives." - Toni Morrison

"Growing up Southern is a privilege, really. It's more than where you're born; it's an idea and state of mind that seems imparted at birth. It's more than loving fried chicken, sweet tea, football, and country music. It’s being hospitable, devoted to front porches, magnolias, moon pies, coca-cola... and each other. We don't become Southern - we're born that way." - Unknown

who's with me?

The Sound of Music just came up on iTunes shuffle {+infinite points for shuffle} which, of course, means I have to blog about it now.
Seriously, how can you not love this woman?

I not so secretly want to be her.
She is so poised and proper and everything a lady should be.
Click here for an amazing recording of an adorable {and wickedly talented} 12 year-old Julie.
simply brilliant.

She is an incredibly talented woman. Have you read Home? I read it last year. It was so neat to find out all about her childhood. She worked hard her whole life. It shows that practice is a huge part of talent. Sure she had the voice, but she worked very hard to make it the best it could be. That Polonaise was amazing.
