"Growing up Southern is a privilege, really. It's more than where you're born; it's an idea and state of mind that seems imparted at birth. It's more than loving fried chicken, sweet tea, football, and country music. It’s being hospitable, devoted to front porches, magnolias, moon pies, coca-cola... and each other. We don't become Southern - we're born that way." - Unknown

Love is in the Air

It's been a while, but I've been busy relaxing and resting my brain over Christmas break. (Which has been lovely, by the way). I've gone shopping and slept in, and eaten a lot of good food. Here's something I've noticed lately: In just the past month about 12 people I know who are all my age or younger have either gotten engaged or married. What's up with that? Thank you BYU for making me feel like an old maid at almost 20. hahaha. But it's not even just people at school. There are people here that I've been friends with for a long time that are getting married. It's crazy! I'm happy for them, but it's nuts! I don't understand why everyone is all of a sudden getting married! I am officially starting to feel old. It's such an odd thing when your friends from high school and college all start getting married. I guess that's going to be life for the next while. It's just weird to think about.
On another note, the weather in South Carolina has been amazing the whole time I've been here. It's been in the 60s and 70s. One day it even got up to about 78ish! It was so lovely! It was a springtime Christmas. The weather here has been such a nice contrast to that of Provo. I left a frozen, artic tundra and came home to Spring! I'm not exactly too keen on the idea of going back to that wintry place, but it'll be alright. I will survive! (Now that song is going through my head. haha). Well, I'm off to watch the always charming and incredibly handsome Harrison Ford in the newest Indiana Jones movie. I have a thing for aging celebrities, but that is a subject for another day's post. :)

Yeah, that's going to be your life for the next few years! Now you know the pressure. Just don't let it make you fold until you are ready. Getting married at 28, I know about that pressure and watching all your friends get married while you are still single.
