"We die. That may be the meaning of life. But we do language.
That may be the measure of our lives." - Toni Morrison

"Growing up Southern is a privilege, really. It's more than where you're born; it's an idea and state of mind that seems imparted at birth. It's more than loving fried chicken, sweet tea, football, and country music. It’s being hospitable, devoted to front porches, magnolias, moon pies, coca-cola... and each other. We don't become Southern - we're born that way." - Unknown

:: 2011 ::

We brought in the new year in full South Carolina style - 72 degrees and balmy.

We had a roman candle war with friends at midnight. This involves running around a wooded park shooting roman candles at each other. Then we set off our other fireworks. They were quite lovely until they fell over and started firing right at us. We hid behind the car.

I drove through Lugoff and Camden with the windows down, and the country music up.

We ate steak with blue cheese sauce {courtesy of my lovely husband} and baked potatoes.

We had Cheerwine sherbert for dessert. Oh, how I love Cheerwine!

We became sophisticated adults; we bought our first piece of original art for our house. The painting is beautiful.

We will graduate in April.

Mostly, I'm excited for my first full {married} year with my Spencer. It will be amazing.

Happy 2011!

Happy New Year! I hope you got the cd of the pictures. I left it with Sherri. She was supposed to give it to your mom.
