"Growing up Southern is a privilege, really. It's more than where you're born; it's an idea and state of mind that seems imparted at birth. It's more than loving fried chicken, sweet tea, football, and country music. It’s being hospitable, devoted to front porches, magnolias, moon pies, coca-cola... and each other. We don't become Southern - we're born that way." - Unknown

one day done.

First day of school = success!

I got to school early to battle the BYU parking situation. {click the link and then click the parking tab. the yellow areas are student parking. how does byu think that's enough parking for 33,000 students? i want to know} But, I prevailed and found a spot. No problem. I didn't have to walk too far either.

I only had one class today {Deaf Culture} but it's going to be great. It's going to be really interesting, and I can't even explain how great it was to be in a class again where the teacher signed the whole time. I also have a good friend in the class, which makes it all the better. And as many of you know, I know ASL and have been toying around with the idea of getting my interpreting license. Well, this friend in my class has connections with some of the coordinators of various ASL Interpreting programs around here, and can easily get me in contact with the right people. How happy is that?

I also bought a notebook. Now I just need some more pens.

And then I met up with some old friends on campus, whom I haven't seen in ages.

Fabulous about the first day and the signing. Parking was a nightmare even when I went there. That's why I always lived closed to campus even when I had a car.
