"We die. That may be the meaning of life. But we do language.
That may be the measure of our lives." - Toni Morrison

"Growing up Southern is a privilege, really. It's more than where you're born; it's an idea and state of mind that seems imparted at birth. It's more than loving fried chicken, sweet tea, football, and country music. It’s being hospitable, devoted to front porches, magnolias, moon pies, coca-cola... and each other. We don't become Southern - we're born that way." - Unknown

we are not campers

I survived Girls Camp. Four days, one all-nighter, and practically inhaling my weight in pollen later, I'm back home. Huzzah. My cousin and I were the lifeguards for the week/the kitchen help/anything else that needed to be done, doers. We learned to hate Wal-Mart with a passion, and screamed "Rollback!" when anyone mentioned the place. We also discovered that one of the leaders literally gags when she hears the words "pimento cheese". So naturally, we said "pimento cheese" to her at every given opportunity.

Would you like to know the recipe for a hilarious camp experience?
1 camp out in the woods.
4 cabins + mess hall + no air conditioning.
1 completely sleepless night
10-15 trips to the evil place (wal-mart)
more food than you ever want to see in your life
6 southern women who were in charge, who also happen to hate the outdoors

Mix well. Let sit for four days. Sit back and enjoy.

Heehee! I wish I could have watched that from the comfort of my couch in my air-conditioned house. I'm just saying. I get to have that joy myself in July. Except we get the joy of tents... Ack! At least we're in the mountains and it should be cooler.
