"We die. That may be the meaning of life. But we do language.
That may be the measure of our lives." - Toni Morrison

"Growing up Southern is a privilege, really. It's more than where you're born; it's an idea and state of mind that seems imparted at birth. It's more than loving fried chicken, sweet tea, football, and country music. It’s being hospitable, devoted to front porches, magnolias, moon pies, coca-cola... and each other. We don't become Southern - we're born that way." - Unknown

being home is the best

I know that I've been such a slacker when it comes to blogging. But I'm in South Carolina, and there's just so much to do! (which leaves very little time for this little blog). I'll get better; I promise. So here's some little snippets of what I've been up to:

:: I've been to Charleston (love.) and back.
:: I stepped into my yard at night and looked at the stars.
:: Shopping. Shopping. Shopping.
:: I've spent lots of time at home with my family + cats in our cute little house on our dead end street.
:: I've spent probably the same amount of time at that lovely brick house on Heyward Street.
:: I ate at Maurices, Zaxby's, Lugoff House of Pizza, and San Jose. Oh, how I miss those places when I'm gone.

Today I'm going swimming, and then I'm off to Heyward Street one last time before I head out of town for the rest of the week.

Sounds like fun stuff. When are you coming this way? Are you going to be able to fit us in?
