"We die. That may be the meaning of life. But we do language.
That may be the measure of our lives." - Toni Morrison

"Growing up Southern is a privilege, really. It's more than where you're born; it's an idea and state of mind that seems imparted at birth. It's more than loving fried chicken, sweet tea, football, and country music. It’s being hospitable, devoted to front porches, magnolias, moon pies, coca-cola... and each other. We don't become Southern - we're born that way." - Unknown

home again.

I made it back home to my lovely South Carolina. Cause for celebration? I think so. I made it home, and twenty-four hours later, my luggage was finally reunited with me. The people on the phone kept giving us vague answers and responses. My favorite? "It's on its way. It should be there in 2-3 hours." Hah! With all that behind me now, and my things safely here and unpacked, here are five reasons why I love this incredible state.

1. My family is here.
2. It's so green.
3. If I step out into my backyard at night, I can see the stars.
4. Everything from the sights to the smells is familiar.
5. My cats.

I'm glad you're home. If you'll remember our suitcases were lost when we went to AZ back in March. I wonder if this means it's happening more often. It's such a pain. Sorry it happened to you and tainted your arrival.

I agree completely, except that I have no cats. Distance does indeed make the heart grow fonder
