It's that good.
And as if this movie wasn't great enough already:
"Gene Kelly had a 103-degree fever when he danced to the title song. The director wanted to send him home, and film the scene another day, but Kelly wouldn't hear of it. He eventually convinced the director that the massive preparations would be wasted, and to allow at least one take. That's all it took - one take - and Kelly went home to recuperate. Most of Kelly's performance is ad libbed - they only had time to rough out his motion up and down the street to establish camera shot opportunities."

I adore that movie!I watch it over and over. While Gene Kelly is super handsome Donald O'Connor is actually my favorite. :) Did you know that the girl the played Lina Lamont was the one that actually did all of the singing for Kathy? It's a little ironic. :) Gene Kelly was quite the perfectionist and tried poor Debbie Reynolds terribly since she didn't know how to dance. Fred Astaire stepped in and taught her.
Can you believe that I haven't seen that movie? Watching old movies always makes your day better.
I LOVE this movie too. surprise. surprise. I didn't know that about the scene where Kelly was sick. He was so amazing. What a talent!
I remember dancing like Gene Kelly... in my dreams. Oh well the movie will do.
