That may be the measure of our lives." - Toni Morrison

"Growing up Southern is a privilege, really. It's more than where you're born; it's an idea and state of mind that seems imparted at birth. It's more than loving fried chicken, sweet tea, football, and country music. It’s being hospitable, devoted to front porches, magnolias, moon pies, coca-cola... and each other. We don't become Southern - we're born that way." - Unknown

oh, boy.

Where to begin? First of all, I hope everyone had a lovely Easter. Mine was full of wisdom, lounging about, good food and incredible dancing. All followed by multiple reenactments of said dancing. If Gene Kelly were still alive, he'd better watch out; we'd give him a serious run for his money.

In other news: this is the last full week of classes with only Monday and Tuesday of next week + finals standing in between me and my glorious summer break. This realization that there are so few class periods left (and three too many more papers to write) before the end of the semester instills a level of panic in me like not much else can. It means less time to finish up those final papers/projects/portfolios before I have to hand them over to my professors. Did I mention panic? I always get really stressed out right at the very end of the semester. I have a final paper due tomorrow though, and once I turn that one in, my stress level will lessen significantly.

Summer, would you please hurry up? Also, has anyone found a machine yet that will write term papers for you? I know I said I enjoy writing papers, I do. But, when they pile up on you, it's not so much fun anymore.

Ah... the thrilling end of the semester. Think of it like the tour de France. Those last few minutes of the race is where your blood really gets pumping.

Aren't you proud of my Tour de France comparison?
