That may be the measure of our lives." - Toni Morrison

"Growing up Southern is a privilege, really. It's more than where you're born; it's an idea and state of mind that seems imparted at birth. It's more than loving fried chicken, sweet tea, football, and country music. It’s being hospitable, devoted to front porches, magnolias, moon pies, coca-cola... and each other. We don't become Southern - we're born that way." - Unknown

edisto love.

january seems to be a rather dismal month. School starts again; there aren't any major breaks; the weather is positively terrible {oxy-moron} and summer just seems so far off.
as i sit here {albeit inside} amongst the miserable cold and snow, all i really want to do is be there at that place again. where is the warm weather? i miss it terribly.

It got up to 61 here day before yesterday. I'll grant you that's not that warm, but it's a heck of a lot better than what's happening around you. (I say that, but we had some vicious-cold weather the couple weeks before--for here at least.)
