That may be the measure of our lives." - Toni Morrison

"Growing up Southern is a privilege, really. It's more than where you're born; it's an idea and state of mind that seems imparted at birth. It's more than loving fried chicken, sweet tea, football, and country music. It’s being hospitable, devoted to front porches, magnolias, moon pies, coca-cola... and each other. We don't become Southern - we're born that way." - Unknown

I mentioned David Sedaris in several previous posts, but please, indulge me for just a moment. If you haven't read his books, what are you waiting for? I simply cannot give enough praise for his writing. It is positively hilarious. {that is, if you don't mind his dry, slightly warped sense of humor and view of the world}. Do yourself a great big favor right now, and go buy one of his books. I recommend starting with Me Talk Pretty One Day; it's the most consistently funny. Every story literally had me laughing out loud, and struggling to get enough oxygen to my brain. It's that good. Trust me.
