"We die. That may be the meaning of life. But we do language.
That may be the measure of our lives." - Toni Morrison

"Growing up Southern is a privilege, really. It's more than where you're born; it's an idea and state of mind that seems imparted at birth. It's more than loving fried chicken, sweet tea, football, and country music. It’s being hospitable, devoted to front porches, magnolias, moon pies, coca-cola... and each other. We don't become Southern - we're born that way." - Unknown

it's almost over

Last night as I fell asleep, thinking about Winter semester 2010 looming in the not-so-distant future, I thought about how crazy we were Winter semester 2009. Late-night pranks involving paint and yards upon yards of brightly colored butcher paper. Gilmore Girls themed parties. Fort building + Angus Thongs. The love seat pulled up to the couch as a bed {then we slept on it}. Ten minutes of Shakespearean monologues outside our front door. We had the time of our lives.

As of Thursday, I am done with classes for Fall semester 2009. All that stands between me and my home is four finals, a few shifts at work, a drive to the Salt Lake City airport, and then a happy little plane ride back to the ever so lovely South. Only six more days. {huzzah}
