That may be the measure of our lives." - Toni Morrison

"Growing up Southern is a privilege, really. It's more than where you're born; it's an idea and state of mind that seems imparted at birth. It's more than loving fried chicken, sweet tea, football, and country music. It’s being hospitable, devoted to front porches, magnolias, moon pies, coca-cola... and each other. We don't become Southern - we're born that way." - Unknown

i will be legit

The start of any new semester makes one assess their progress in school, as well as their time left before they're sent off to venture out into the real world. As I did this this morning, I realized that {excluding Winter Semester 2010} I only have eight more classes to take before I graduate. That's right. Eight. Which means that I only have a year left. When did that happen? I'm kind of in a state of shock about it. I've just been going with the flow, not paying much attention to how much time remains for me at BYU before graduation {you know, "watched pot" syndrome} and now it's as if the end has suddenly caught up with me; it's in sight, and it's terrifying.

So, if everything goes as planned:
I will graduate from college {!!!} in April 2011.

oh. man.
