"We die. That may be the meaning of life. But we do language.
That may be the measure of our lives." - Toni Morrison

"Growing up Southern is a privilege, really. It's more than where you're born; it's an idea and state of mind that seems imparted at birth. It's more than loving fried chicken, sweet tea, football, and country music. It’s being hospitable, devoted to front porches, magnolias, moon pies, coca-cola... and each other. We don't become Southern - we're born that way." - Unknown

guilty, as charged

I am a self-proclaimed lover of everything related to classic rock. Anyone who has spent any amount of time talking to me should know this. If it was a band/solo artist/song/etc from the era of classic rock, I'm almost guaranteed to love it. There are several bands that I cannot seem to get enough of, and are, but not limited to: Pink Floyd, The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Boston, Queen, Jethro Tull, and Lynyrd Skynyrd, to just name a few. Of course, as with all obsessions, there are always a few exceptions: e.g. Van Halen, The Talking Heads, Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix {in moderation} Bruce Springsteen, etc. Despite the few anomalies, I feel confident in saying that I am a classic rock connoisseur.

And while my musical tastes are not limited to classic rock alone, it clearly dominates my listening endeavors. I enjoy a vast myriad of genres, yet classic rock has been, and will continue to be my first love. That being said, I have a confession; a guilty pleasure, if you will. I love country music. The style; those accents; the subject matter; I love it all. I am that girl you see driving down the road in a truck with South Carolina tags {which I'm sure only contributes to the stereotype} blaring country music. Something about it speaks to me.

I also wish, on almost a daily basis, that I had a John Williams soundtrack, composed for me, and only me that blared from the proverbial loudspeakers of my life.

A life soundtrack! What a great idea. I'm surprised you think of The Talking Heads as classic rock. They don't fit there in my opinion. They came too late. As for country... You know how I feel about me some Josh Turner.
