"We die. That may be the meaning of life. But we do language.
That may be the measure of our lives." - Toni Morrison

"Growing up Southern is a privilege, really. It's more than where you're born; it's an idea and state of mind that seems imparted at birth. It's more than loving fried chicken, sweet tea, football, and country music. It’s being hospitable, devoted to front porches, magnolias, moon pies, coca-cola... and each other. We don't become Southern - we're born that way." - Unknown

"inside the broken ovals of your olive eyes"

Aren't those simply beautiful lyrics? Such a great line. Listen here.

Now for the real subject of this post. Weekends are lovely and bring much needed excitement, fun, and adventure. I'm convinced. My weekend consisted of Seinfeld, homemade pizza, swimming, and lots of acoustic guitar. I've had "Happiness is a Warm Gun" stuck in my head for the past three days. No joke. And the guitar playing/singing only reinforced the song being permanently seared into my brain. {I'm not complaining though; it's an excellent song}.

And now for Sunday. Spencer and I took a trip to Salt Lake City to find the rumored "midget colony". This place supposedly exists where everything is miniaturized. And, success! We found it. Rather anticlimactic, if I do say so myself. It really wasn't too different than the stuff around it. Perhaps if we had ventured in further past the "No Trespassing" signs, we would find more drastically small things. So, to make up for the somewhat commonplace of the colony, on the way back to Provo, whilst listening to Abbey Road, we contrived a story so ornate to tell of our harrowing experience and survival of the midget colony in Salt Lake. It involved everything from being chased by midgets, the police, rotten vegetables, and almost picking up the car.
After a short detour through Provo {to finish listening to Abbey Road, of course} we hunkered down to watch A Hard Day's Night. {hilarious}. They were a bunch of goofs.

Also, The Beatles and Fleet Foxes are both quite infectious; I can't seem to get enough of either.

sounds like a fun day. I suppose in Midgetville you were at long last a giant. Yay you!
