"Growing up Southern is a privilege, really. It's more than where you're born; it's an idea and state of mind that seems imparted at birth. It's more than loving fried chicken, sweet tea, football, and country music. It’s being hospitable, devoted to front porches, magnolias, moon pies, coca-cola... and each other. We don't become Southern - we're born that way." - Unknown

these are but small moments part 2
"It's extraordinary how we go through life with eyes half shut, with dull ears, with dormant thoughts. Perhaps it's just as well; and it may be that it is this very dulness that makes life to the incalculable majority so supportable and so welcome. Nevertheless, there can be but few of us who had never known one of these rare moments of awakening when we see, hear, understand ever so much---everything---in a flash---before we fall back again into our agreeable somnolence."
So many of us live our lives somewhat unaware of these times in our lives. Become aware, and embrace them. Don't look to the past and live in regret; don't look to the future and live in fear.
"Forget regret or life is yours to miss . . . Give in to love or live in fear."

We had a choir sing "Seasons of Love" as I walked down the aisle at our wedding.
