"We die. That may be the meaning of life. But we do language.
That may be the measure of our lives." - Toni Morrison

"Growing up Southern is a privilege, really. It's more than where you're born; it's an idea and state of mind that seems imparted at birth. It's more than loving fried chicken, sweet tea, football, and country music. It’s being hospitable, devoted to front porches, magnolias, moon pies, coca-cola... and each other. We don't become Southern - we're born that way." - Unknown

four weeks and three days left!

"Watching the Tour is like watching four and a half hours of 'Marie Antoinette' with just a few minutes of 'Die Hard' at the very end."
- Al Trautwig

If you've ever talked to me any time even remotely near the month of July, you know that saying I am a huge fan of the Tour is a gross understatement. I watch it religiously every year; I never miss a day. I sacrifice my sleep to get up early and watch it live. It is my favorite sporting event to watch besides college football. I love everything about the Tour. It is just three weeks of pure awesomeness.

Reasons why I am excited for this year's Tour:
1. Lance is back!
2. The commentators are positively hilarious.
3. Have you seen their legs?
4. They go unbelievably fast during the time trial stages.
5. The mountain stages are awe-inspiring.
6. Bob Roll says words like 'schmengies' and 'schlouges'.
7. Those sprints to the finish just, wow.

{2009's Tour is going to be phenomenal}

How did we never connect over this?! It is my favorite sporting event to watch besides college basketball, and I've secretly crushed on Bob Roll for years. So much love!! You'll have to send me updates in the MTC :)
