That may be the measure of our lives." - Toni Morrison

"Growing up Southern is a privilege, really. It's more than where you're born; it's an idea and state of mind that seems imparted at birth. It's more than loving fried chicken, sweet tea, football, and country music. It’s being hospitable, devoted to front porches, magnolias, moon pies, coca-cola... and each other. We don't become Southern - we're born that way." - Unknown

Slumdogs and Stu *quack*

Slumdog Millionaire won 8 out of the 10 Oscars it was nominated for.
Including the Oscars for Best Picture and Best Director, among others.
Happy Day!
Kate Winslet won the Oscar for Best Actress instead of Meryl Streep.
Sad Day.
I love Kate, but I really wanted Meryl to win.
Now back to Slumdog Millionaire......This movie made me fall in love with love all over again. And it really made me want to learn how to Bollywood dance. And visit India. And fall in love.

Here's a fun tidbit from my weekend: A Friday night photo scavenger hunt resulting in hilarious pictures and an adventure involving the duck named Stu. As Taran so aptly phrased it: "Friday night, Hyrum proved as irresistible to ducks as he is to female hearts, when a duck followed him home, and had to be forcefully removed." This nighttime duck escapade all started when Stu made the epic journey from the duck pond to Campus Plaza. Once there, Stu posed for the camara, and in full-out diva style, refused the meager bread the boys tried to feed her. Then Matt came outside (complete with duck calls) to see Stu, and successfully "talked" to her using said calls. Stu even talked back! This all resulted in a MAN205 win! and an avid duck hunter's (Matt's) first picture holding a live duck. (He looked so happy he could cry). Then, Matt, ever so chivalrously, carried Stu back to her home.
What a happy ending to our nighttime duck escapade!

***Disclaimer: No ducks were harmed in the making of this MAN205 win.***
